It seems like every day I’m setting up a new one, logging in to another one. Some days I’ll log into 20 or more different WordPress sites before the day is over. That’s a lot of WordPress! When it’s time for a new client to take the reigns on their new site, there’s often a fair amount of trepidation. That’s totally understandable! I use WordPress full-time, but new site owners do not. So how do you do it? How do you get better at WordPress?Don’t be afraid! Login and start making changes. The more you do it, the more comfortable you’ll feel. The more comfortable you feel, the more confident you’ll get. If you are signed up for one of our support plans, know that we’re making a backup every single day, so it’s okay if you mess something up – we can always restore the site from the previous day quickly.Watch tutorial videos. When we finish a site and turn it over to a client, we install a comprehensive series of video tutorials. There’s so much information there. Most of the videos are just a few minutes, so you could literally watch one to two a day and be continually learning without being overwhelmed.Read up on it. Did you know there’s a WordPress for Dummies book? It’s true! I’ve met some of the contributors and they are solid in their WordPress chops. Pick up a copy and start reading up to learn more about how it works. What not to do:The worst thing you can do in your quest for WordPress glory is to ignore your site and not login. It’s so easy to lose your confidence because you don’t login in months and you forget. As with any skill, regular practice is your best bet for increasing your skills and learning new ones."},{"@context":"https:\/\/schema.org\/","@type":"BreadcrumbList","itemListElement":[{"@type":"ListItem","position":1,"name":"How to get better at WordPress","item":"https:\/\/staging-sumydesigns.kinsta.cloud\/get-better-wordpress\/#breadcrumbitem"}]}]
